The Chinese company ZTE today said it plans to take “certain measures” in accordance with the laws of the United States in response to the ban of the Ministry of trade of this country.
What actions will be taken in connection with the ban, the company said. However, operations with ZTE shares on the stock exchange of Hong Kong will remain suspended.
We will remind, the Bureau of industry and security U.S. Department of Commerce earlier this month forbade American companies to sell their products ZTE for seven years. According to the Ministry, the Chinese company has repeatedly violated an agreement reached last year. Then ZTE was ordered to pay a fine in the amount of 1.19 billion for violating U.S. sanctions against Iran.
The payment of the penalty allowed ZTE to avoid the ban on the purchase of products of American companies, including a single-chip system Qualcomm. However, this year in the United States decided to impose a ban, justifying this decision by the fact that ZTE had allegedly violated last year’s agreement, not only dismissing employees who were related to transactions with Iran, but also paying them bonuses.
